Long story short, she fired right up, has a great rumble, and drives perfectly. She has the only engine offered in 1981 which was the 350 CI (5.7L) L-81 and she came with a Turbo350 Automatic Transmission, but that has been upgraded! The odometer read 41,749 when I bought it, I'm not sure, but I am assuming it's been around once, so it probably had 141,749, the odometer now reads 44,495 so while I haven't put a lot of miles on her, they have truly been quality miles!
I have taken her on multiple Targa California events, which are several day tours up and down California, she has also been used as a pace car for parade laps on 4 major racetracks, for which she is extremely happy doing! See pictures. She has NEVER been raced.
The T-Tops are in perfect condition, as is most everything else, the only faults I can really find are the rock chips and nicks/cracks in the paint, which has been repainted at some point in the past, definitely in the original color. The interior has been at least partially redone, because in Idaho it is either hot, or cold outside and so the center sections of the seats were replaced with natural sheepskin inserts, making the car comfy in any weather. The old man used a custom removable center armrest and 2 cup cupholders that fit in the center and don't affect anything, but add more comfort and convenience.
The big modifications and improvements that I have done are the addition of a 700R4 4 Speed automatic transmission, which has changed the car dramatically, making her way faster off the line, and giving her an incredible top end, as well as a much more fuel efficient and comfortable freeway cruise. I have also just replaced many of the bearings and bushings, she has new Bilstein gas shocks, new BFG Radial T/A tires, in the factory optional, larger 255/60/15 size, and a brand new battery. She has A/C, but it needs a charge. It has a slow leak, and only lasts a month or so, before it needs to be recharged. BTW, this is the LAST YEAR for carbureted Corvettes, making her simple to work on, and inexpensive to modify engine performance-wise. But her engine is still stock, and very adequate performance-wise at the moment, due to the upgraded transmission.
This is a really nice, well taken care of car, for less than $10,000.00 and is becoming more collectible by the day.

Keywords: Okay, it's not as collectible as a 1957 Corvette Fuelie, or a 1963 Corvette Split Window Sting Ray Fuelie, or even a 1969 Corvette Stingray 427 with 435 hp and tri-power... But it is a really nice original Corvette and it's not in the hundreds of thousands of dollars... Yet. ;-)
