Project, project, project and did I mention a project? Ok here's a 1979 super beetle convertible. It has over $6000 worth of initial purchase of $2800 then new floor pans full length installed, months of body work getting it nice and straight and ready for paint. Entire fuel injection system replaced new or remanufactured new. Exhaust cleaned sand blasted and re coated. New engine!!! Brand new vw fuel injected heads and new temperature sensor that goes in right bank of head.. sensor alone $100. Engine over $2000 including new cylinders, pistons and rings. Not re -built brand new! Extremely powerful for a 1600cc .. compression at volkswagen high end fresh engine 142 on all 4 cylinders.. most are off marginally to 114 which is within vw specs.. this motor is awesome.Originally a california car that was sold on eBay to a guy in charleston about 10 years ago. From story I got the car showed up with the engine ruined. He paid$17,000 for the car at that time. These vw beetle convertibles are highly sought-after over seas and in us. A good investment and once painted a heck of a nice solid car. Front and back seats reupholstered using top of the line material from jbugs in california. Over $1000 in seats headrest and new door panels. New running boards, new turn signals and tail lights are included. Really doesn't need more then $500 to $1000 including convertible top installed To be exceptional car. Paint is needed and maco can do a nice job if you pay a little more and upgrade from there economy line or step up and put a drop dead paint job and have a $18,000 car again.. great start and easy winter project or investment. Won't last long. The last one I sold didn't make it 72 hours. Bring cash and trailer. Pictures show the story. Will start and run but no test drives or tire kicking.Im selling because I had heart attach and retiring from this line of work. If there's no interest this weekend I'm coming back up from Florida after Thanksgiving and finish final body work and paint the car and take it to Florida. Don't snooze on this one.
