Located in a Northern suburb of St. Paul, MN, up for sale here is one of the best 1979 Chevrolet El Camino's in the Country, bar none. This build started out many years ago as an 80,000 mile totally rust free Nevada car. It was completely stripped down to a bare body and frame, media blasted and primed and brought back to life on and off, piece by piece, over a 30 year period. Only the best parts have been used throughout the process - only the original perfect body remains, almost everything else is new including the 350 engine and four speed transmission, the front and rear suspension components, differential, gas tank, exhaust, wheels, tires, grille and all body and wheel trim, bumpers, gaskets, glass, interior, and it goes on and on. The perfect dash is a custom installation from a 1984 Monte Carlo. Differential is the heavy duty 10 bolt GM with 4.11 gears. Today, this is very close to a new car! Less than 500 miles since the build was considered complete in 2020 - and it is surely one of the straightest bodies you will find anywhere. When your eye ventures down the sides of this body, it just looks like pure red glass without any waves or ripples - none! The engine is fresh of course, a conservative drivable build by Total Engine out of Minneapolis, MN, dyno'd at just over 400hp. EFI by FiTech, guarantees performance and the sound out the back is just perfect to one's ear. Paint is a custom mix red color that will stand out among reds wherever you go - it is one of the most eye appealing you will come across. Upholstery by Premier is also a no holds barred job, all the very best materials and stitched by the best in their craft. Paint and Body work is by Unique Body and Paint, famous for their having I think it is 5 Great 8 cars at the Detroit Autorama show over the last 10 years. Bodies that come from Unique are always unmistakably straight and the paint is never less than flawless.
