Runs and drives like a champ!
This FJ is worth its weight in gold for the memories it’s provided for our family. However, We recently found out we are moving cross country. We just had our third kid and I don’t intend to take this with me. This is my daily driver.
Prior to me, the previous owner found her in the Arizona sun and drove her around for about 8 years. He drove it cross country 3 times (he’s a marine). The power train is the original style 4.2l I6 2f engine with a Weber 32/36 and HEI distributor and original 4speed transmission. It has a newer front end and 300 amp alternator as well as a dual battery tray for a second battery. Recently I’ve given it new plugs, distributor tune up kit, new valve and push rod gaskets, new gm alternator, and new bilstein 5100 shocks all the way around. I’ve replaced the thermostat, done regular oil changes, and just some tlc. It has a couple of rust spots but should be easily fixed and painted. Also had the carb tuned last month. This FJ is rated to be one of the best 4x4 off-road capable machines to roll off an assembly line even to this day. These trucks have a huge following and I’ll always be a fan. We are just growing as a family and needs are slowly changing. My wife and kids aren’t eager to have me sell it quite yet but I can see the days coming at some point or it’ll go into a barn at my folks house.
