You can tell the car was well taken care of and garaged for a good part of its existence - doors don't sag and glass and tail lights still shine -- even still has its factory original engine intake hose in good condition -- how many owners of 1970s GM cars can say that? It still has most of its original No. 51 Bright Yellow paint left with some minor blemishes but solid fenders, doors, floors, rockers, trunk, sub-frame, and unitized rear frame. There is only one spot of filler, at the sill of the wrap-around rear window on driver's side ( a common rust area even in CA) -- I don't weld, but easily repaired by you with metal if that bothers you. And other than the driver's seat, the interior is in amazing shape for an original 1970s California Camaro/Firebird, with perfect dash, console, and headliner, along with very good carpet, passenger seats, door panels, and side panels. Except for radio everything works --- lights, handles, horn, wipers, heater, and parking brake. Original straight six engine starts and runs smooth and quietly, and Turbohydramatic shifts smooth, but engine is getting tired. Drive as is for local trips; rebuild when you feel like it; or add your LT-1, LS-1 etc.
$3,000 invested by previous owner and myself; I've installed new 4-core radiator, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, and head gasket. Sale includes original California smog pump, along with original rally wheel spare, original CA blue plate, original owner's manual, jack, trunk mat, etc. Also pile of receipts from all three owners; clean PA title; and remote alarm with power door locks.
Bring your mechanic friend, flashlights, magnets etc. - I've said it all so nothing to hide. First $6,800 cash or best reasonable offer, sold as is. I know the car is not perfect so please do not tell me what's wrong with it (I've just told you); it's also not $12- or $14,000. Happy hunting!
