1976 AMC Matador Brougham Coupe. 360 cubic inch engine with automatic transmission and factory original dual exhausts. Power Steering, Power Brakes, non working Air Conditioning. There is a stereo in the car that doesn't function. This is the original paint, Sienna Orange with a brand new Vinyl top installed in 2018 (done the right way, roof painted and prepped for vinyl top). The car is from El Paso Texas, sold from Matt Massey AMC Jeep which was one of American Motors Corporations larges AMC dealers, always performing in the top ten in sales annually, they are still in business today selling Jeeps. This coupe had NOS lenses for side markers and tail lamps. The bumpers are flawless the chrome really shines. It's from a very dry climate so the body is well preserved. The interior is original but a bit dried out being from a dry Climate. The Matador Coupe at the time in 1974 when first launched was awarded "Best Styled Car of the Year" by Car and Drivers magazine. The Aluminum Road Wheels really set the car off. The tires are new with only a few hundred miles driven on them. This is a very bold car from a very bold time period, you'll be noticed in this for sure. They were really big in NASCAR with 13 top three finishes over two years of racing. There is a big club following and parts aren't that hard to fine. Good and Bad Stuff. The Paint is original but there's a few very thin spots, on the tops of each door. The bottom of the rear seat was missing so I have a seat that's from a Matador but not quite the same fabric pattern, but it's fits fine and is brown like the rest of the interior. I installed the carpets but they were very poor quality and don't fit at all well and should be replaced. The car also has a brand new Radiator and the Hood Hinges were rebuilt and replaced. Options on the car included speed control (not functioning) and the leather wrapped tilting steering wheel. Some sort of alarm system was also installed and removed but you still see some of the wiring and parts related to it. Trunk lock won't open (new problem) but the trunk is fully carpeted in the original black carpet and in fantastic shape. The car has Maine License Plates as Maine is a No Title State and the work on the car was done in Maine but it was only in Maine one year, it's been in Texas or Virginia for it's whole life. I think the Chrysler Torque Flight might need a rebuild or possibly just an adjustment, It's not shifting into third gear. As it has the original exhausts, it also has it's original catalytic converters (which is really amazing). I've kept them because they are original to the car and very cool in my mind. I'm selling to thin out my collection, too many cars, too many projects.
