This beautiful GTV Coupe offers all of the most desirable features and specifications of the long series production of this iconic model. This example was discovered by our team in Italy in very good overall condition cosmetically and mechanically. The body was straight and sound, no evidence of any prior damage or structural rust.

Our goal was to create an exceptional example and we proceeded to go thru the entire car to raise the already high standard of finish and condition to a spectacular level.

This car was originally delivered to the German market and, as a European model, is fitted with dual Dellorto carburetors. As a 1974 model it is also exempt from California smog testing.
Overall condition is very clean and very original.

Our reconditioning process included a comprehensive chassis inspection and professional treatment of all minor rust issues in the wheel arches, doors, front fenders and and frame bracing. We then removed the engine, transmission and all glass prior to a total repaint in the original shade of Verde Muschio Chiaro. Body reassembly included new window gaskets and door seals as necessary. The underside of the body was cleaned to bare metal, prepped and undercoated. All noise insulation has been replaced. The entire engine bay was also painted and thoroughly detailed.

The exterior shows to a very high standard.
All trim, bumpers and badges are in excellent condition.
Paintwork is rich and lustrous.

The interior features the original high quality vinyl upholstery in the rich Cinghiale Maremma shade. A through cleaning, waxing and detail operation was performed and all aspects of the dash, door panels, seats and carpets now show to a high standard. The original attractive wood-rimmed wheel features attractive alloy spokes and horn buttons. A period audio system with cassette looks right at home in the woodgrain-accented dashboard. Alfa’s trademark tall shift lever handles the selection chores for the 5-speed gearbox admirably. All pedals were removed, lubricated and refitted.

While the engine and transmission were out of the car they were fully inspected, all oil leaks and gasket issues addressed, and the units cleaned and detailed. Engine compression and oil pressure are very good, as expected given the low original mileage. Prior to reinstallation new motor mounts and a new driveshaft guibo were installed. The clutch is new, master cylinder is new and all hydraulic system hoses have been replaced. The oil pan protector was newly anodized. Rear axle and differential fully disassembled and fitted with new wheel bearings, bushings and seals. Engine, gear and differential oils, brake fluid, antifreeze have all been renewed. Mechanically the engine, clutch, transmission and chassis, as well as all related components, now present impeccably and operate flawlessly.

The entire electrical system has been inspected, tested and repaired as necessary.

The suspension has been lowered 30mm and fitted with adjustable performance shocks. The original 14” alloy “Turbine” style wheels and 195/65R14 tires are included in the sale.

This Alfa Romeo coupe delivers all of the excitement and nuance for which the late series GTV is noted. The delightful chassis responds crisply to the accurate steering, the ride is supple and composed, the brakes are smooth and powerful and the engine sings a pleasant note with each snap of the gearshift.

No issues, no problems, all lightness and joy on the road.
