Used 1973 Ford Bronco "Ranger" - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... for sale in Cardiff By The Sea, CA

FOR SALE: 1973 Bronco U15 that is a number’s matching “Ranger” package with its original drivetrain and many original options (See attached Marti Report). I was building this for personal use, so I added several upgrades to make it a daily driver yet retain its original look and not be too modern or customized, but now I am leaning towards a more aggressive frame-up project so testing the waters here to sell.

The bronco retains its original “Sequoia Brown” paint color but was professionally stripped, bodywork done, and repainted in late 2019. It has its original 302 CI engine which has been freshened up with the addition of NEW Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 1406 carb, Pertronix billet HEI distributor, Coil, new 120 AMP one wire alternator. All new cooling system installed with new aluminum 3 core radiator, silicon hoses, S/S camps, new reserve tanks. The bronco retains its original Automatic Transmission (C4) and 4.11 gears which have been gone through, serviced but not replaced or modified. This model was optioned with Power steering and manual brakes. I replaced the front drums with discs and added a power booster from TBP as well as completely replaced the rear drum brakes, and all brake lines with S/S lines all from TBP. All new fuel system was installed, new OEM tanks, skid plates, lines, sending units, pump and filters to ensure no bad fuel enters the motor. Lots of time, money, and parts…

There is no hardtop, but it does have a complete brand new “Rampage” brand soft top in a very rare discontinued complimenting brown with removable tinted side windows (they are out in pic). The top is super high quality and can be taken down/off in about 15 mins if a full convertible look is desired.

The interior was completely redone and is brand new including a new carpet (looped) carpet kit and recovered seats and rear interior quarter panels. Not a show-quality job, but was not intended to be, I chose a fun 70’s serape pattern for inserts and had our upholsterer use heavy boat vinyl since I expected to run it topless quite a bit. Easily converted back to stock with every piece being available through either TBP or BroncoHut.

The truck sits on stock suspension with upgraded poly bushings in some places (no lift) and will be receiving 4 new Skyjacker shocks (not installed yet) and a steering stabilizer this week. Wheels and tires are brand new 15x8 US Indy Mags on 33x12.5x15 BFG KO3’s from Discount Tire.

There is still a couple of things that need to be finished and decided on (hence “project”) which either I will get to or the new owners can do…there is no sound system yet, although a new antenna and wiring is in place. Some of the gauges are not working at the moment (fuel and speedo) but parts have been ordered and they will be fixed this week. The roll bar is not bolted in as I was contemplating doing a full family cage and did not want to cut carpet just yet. It would benefit from a small lift (2.5”-3.5”) but the stage and size is TBD, exhaust is good, but I think it could be in need of an update eventually as it has stock exhaust manifolds (some prefer that over headers) and a nice system, just seems a bit small.

I have all OEM engine parts and a bunch of misc. hardware (new and OEM) that come with it along with a new 1973 owner’s manual.

I am testing the waters here as I want to do a full custom frame-up build, but do not want to cut up a survivor like this one to do so…I have all receipts, docs including some docs from the previous owner. The truck was sold originally in CO in 1973 and had a 2-owner history before I went out there and purchased it. It is currently is registered in and has a CO title in my name, title does reflect a “rebuilt” designation, and is registered with collector plates (registration paid in advance for 5yrs). The “rebuilt” brand was supposedly issued in 1983 due to damage incurred by a tree branch to the driver’s side roof and windscreen as per the previous owner who was the owner at the time of the incident.
