Vehicle Description
There are 117,447 indicated original odometer miles with factory red wax seals still on cables ends! Absolutely NO rust anywhere- body or chassis. Even exhaust manifold heater & window defroster ducts are completely intact and work perfectly!
First year of 12-volt electrical system was offered in the beetle! Rare & highly sought-after year. Same car and color (twins) as the famous Disney film “Herbie-the love bug” series.
Original, matching numbers 1493cc/53hp 1bbl. engine and trans. VW Engine # H0667559. Uses/burns NO oil! All metal, fenders, floor pans, running boards, even interior floormats/side carpet all original. All regular maintenance has been done by licensed old VW repair garage including recent engine gone through-new NOS parts include: oil cooler, pushrod tubes & all oil seals and gaskets, cap & rotor, spark plugs and wires, rear axle boots, brake cylinders, master cylinder, front brake rubber hoses, fuel pump, wiper arms and blades, and correct VW Interstate battery ($4,020.89 have all receipts). 4 newer tires and VW factory seat covers.
Original VW owner’s manual and warranty book, original copy of window sticker & owner’s card, and other early documentation included. Also, vehicle history with signed letter from original owner! I am 3rd owner, I purchased car in 1993 from original owners’ grandchild, car was from Kansas and had 66,494 miles on it when I purchased it. Car is all original, with the Lotus white factory paint still in good shape even with 54 years of minor fender dings, scratches, and front rock chips. All chrome in good shape, none missing or pitted. This is a limited “Wolfsburg” edition German made Beetle with steering wheel & inside VW bumpers stamped, including rare optional factory back up lights. Original Pennz-guard factory undercoating/rustproofing.
The only thing NOT original on car is an in-dash Kenwood/Alpine DEH-1600 AM/FM CD player & rear speakers. I have the original radio dash cover plate cover, and the 2 rear speakers are mounted in a wood cover in the back storage area and can be easily lifted out/removed to restore original look for shows. A great car to enjoy and drive or a terrific car to perform a cosmetic restoration on if so desired. Car needs nothing.
This car has always been garaged, and never driven in the snow or rain. Has Minnesota personalized collector plates “67 Bug” which can be transferred to a Minnesota buyer.
