Used 1966 Fiat 1100D Sedan - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... for sale in San Luis Obispo, CA

This 1966 model is the last year of the Fiat 1100D which was offered along side the newer Fiat 1100R for 1966 and 1967 only, after which it was replaced by the Fiat 124 Sedan in 1968 and the Fiat 128 Sedan in 1969. We acquired this car about three years ago, the previous owner had it for 20+ years, lived in San Francisco and regularly drove it between there and Chico. The odometer reads "00206" and the speedometer cable needs to be replaced (a new one is included with the car) so I'm not sure about the total mileage on the car, but I believe it is somewhere in the low 100k range.

The engine is a 1221cc water cooled OHV inline four cylinder, the transmission is a four speed manual with column shift, driveshaft and rear axle assembly. The engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and revs well. The manual choke works for cold starts, only takes a few minutes to warm up, and drives nicely in town and on the highway. The clutch works well and the transmission shifts smoothly, no odd noises or vibration when rolling down the road. The front suspension uses dual wishbone control arms, coil spring, and shock absorber like the Fiat 124, the control arm bushings are getting a little tired (new replacements are included with the car), the rear suspension uses leaf springs and shock absorbers, I replaced the leaf spring bushings last year, and the shocks are still good front and rear. The tires on the car are a little oversized and a little old, a replacement set that have not been installed yet are included with the car. The brakes are manual four-wheel drum, and work as they should.

The exterior paint is okay, not too good, not too bad, it was repainted at some point in the original color. The chrome trim and bumpers are all present and in decent condition, the front turn signal lenses and rear taillight lenses were recently replaced, everything works electrically, including the lights, wipers, horn, etc. The interior is a mix of good and bad, the seats are near perfect since they were reupholstered by the previous owner, the door panels are original with some scuffs, the original front floor rubber mats and rear carpet are getting tired, and the headliner is missing. The dash and steering wheel are okay, with one missing trim piece on the passenger side.

Overall its a solid car, with lots of potential to be a super nice car, with some work that we'd planned to do, but we're moving soon and won't have the space to take this car with us, so it's being offered for sale as the original unrestored survivor that it is, which has been continuously registered in California since new, and still has the original black and yellow license plates from 1966. Asking $4900 including a box of extra parts and the new tires, the title is clean, and the registration is paid through September 2021.
