Vehicle Description
The bus has some rust in rockers, front passenger door jamb and floors but frame, engine compartment, roof and most of body in great shape.
The dash was cut at some point but I have the portion that was cut out just needs to be carefully tacked back in place.
The bulkhead was cut out to make the bus a walk through but I have the original bulkhead and like dash just needs to be carefully tacked back into place.
At some point in the bus's life someone installed 50's style bullet front turn signals, the install is seamless and looks almost original.
The entire suspension has been replaced with a 4” complete lowering kit by Airkewld, all new rear drum brakes, new front “Wilwood” disk brakes, a brand new 4 speed Freeway Flyer transmission (0 miles) and all new adjustable gas shocks.
The suspension kit included modification of the original spring plates to lower 4", after modification I had them powder coated
I had new brake drums powder coated
The front beam has been completely rebuilt, new torsion springs, bushings and rebuilt front spindles dropped by Airkewld
I had front beam powder coated before reassembly.
Before I installed the front beam and the rear suspension I scraped and wire brushed the entire under side of the body (floor) panels down to raw metal, primed them and then painted entire area with POR15 rust encapsulator so I would be finished in that area and not have to work around the new parts in the future.
New stainless steel brake lines in front and I also have a new brake master cylinder by Airkewld (not installed yet)
The motor is complete and runs with no smoke, just had all motor tins blasted and powder coated, just needs reassembled. (I have new tin screw kit, oil filter, gaskets, pully's, belt, distributer point/rotor and cap, plugs, plug wires, heat tubes, heat tube clamps, carb rebuild kit)
I have new shifter, new complete bus wiring harness, new front light buckets with chrome trim ring and glass as well as new headlights, rear tail lights (complete unit with chrome trim ring, lens, etc.), new front "VW" emblem and many other parts to freshen up motor when reassembling.
Brand new Empi "Raider" wheels and brand new Toyo low profile tires (0 miles on all)
I have calculated the remaining parts to complete the entire mechanical function of the bus (every little piece and part) and it adds up to about $1,300
I have calculated all the body parts needed for replacement and that adds up to about $1,600 (body parts but not glass and weather striping)
I am asking $14,500 or best “Reasonable” offer
I do have the title just never had transferred into my name
