Vehicle Description
Not only first generation, but the second year Chevelle ever made. The beginning of a muscle car Legend. Unveiled in 1964, GM's redesigned A-body intermediately received rave reviews. A new design with a full frame O-P unit-body chassis provided Chevrolet a means to supply a "compact" model of its own. The Super Sport SS name shouted muscle car. This car features its Factory Original limited production 327 indicated by 180 last 3 digit engine block code.(1) (2) (3) credits. Praised for its clean body lines, well-balanced handling and overall comfort and available, the Chevelle had made History.
Refinements were a more angular front end and sportier tail panel. Available as a two-door hardtop or convertible, the SS was distinguished by subtle yet attractive rocker panels and wheel opening trim, circled SS badges on the tail panel and quarter panels, and a blacked-out grille, bisected by a horizontal strip of bright trim which complements the black-trimmed tail panel.
