Used 1962 CHEVROLET CORVAIR GREENBRIER - cars & trucks - by owner -... for sale in Lancaster, CA

Vehicle Description

1962 Corvair Greenbrier FC, 110 hp engine with 4 spd manual. 3.55 posi. diff from a 61/62 Corvair car.

I am gauging interest in my Corvair Van. Deciding whether or not to sell.

PLEASE READ:
These are becoming pretty few and far between. I get TONS of thumbs-ups while driving this. The van is in very solid condition, mechanically. Here is the list of everything recently done:
- 164ci 110hp FC engine rebuilt from California Corvairs. EVERYTHING new, remanufactured, or rebuilt. Has pertronix electronic ignition (no points)
- New Clutch (Ca Corvairs)
- New Gas Tank with all new rubber and engine compartment fuel line.
- Rebuilt rear axles with new bearings (Ca Corvairs)
- Front wheel bearings replaced
- Inspected the trans/diff, they were good to go so I installed all new seals for 4spd gear box and diff.
- Very new tires (at least 95% tread remaining)
- Bought Deluxe weatherstripping kit from Clark's Corvairs. I have not yet installed every gasket. It includes all window felt, channel, rubber, gaskets for engine and battery cover, and all door weatherstripping.

The interior is "as is" from when I bought it about 2 years ago. It is nice for a driver, but it is not a full restoration by any means.

It does have a few spots where the paint is bubbled due to rust, here and there. Overall, it's a really nice-looking van but, again, it is not a full restore.

I have added 9 lap- seat belts throughout, painted the wheels, added original option style side view mirrors (which aren't rare but not too common to see).

Honestly, the thing runs great. The downside is that it does not have a working heater. I removed the heater fan (just a few nuts and bolts) to R&R it but haven't got around to it. Needs new ducting. It has the paint bubbles as mentioned (the worst one is pictured). And there is a scrap on the driver's side paint that the previous owner put on there THE DAY BEFORE I BOUGHT IT (bummer). Fuel gauge has not been accurate since I bought the new sending unit. I am thinking I got a faulty unit. Aside from the fuel gauge and heater, everything works as it should.

My wife and kids do not want me to sell this, so I will only sell if I can get the asking price. You can find cheaper Greenbriers out there but 99% of them probably need engine rebuilds and tons of money before they are as reliable as this one.

So, PLEASE DO NOT TEXT ME IF YOU THINK I AM ASKING TOO MUCH-- NOT NEGOTIABLE ON PRICE. Not a dollar less. No trades. I do not need help selling. Text only to initiate conversation, or leave a message, please. I don't have a ton of time to field a bunch of calls.
