Used 1955 Dodge Town Panel (C-3 Series) for sale in Port Byron, IA

Here's a really nice, all original (except paint) 1955 Dodge Town Panel. There is no rust on this vehicle, other than the bottom side of the rear doors, as shown in photos. The underbody and frame are rust free. There is no body filler or rust repair anywhere on the vehicle. The odometer reads 13,000 miles, and several "experts" have told me that it is possible those are original miles. Given the fact that there are a few bolt holes that have been epoxied closed on the roof and the front fenders, it is likely this was a Civil Defense vehicle that spent most it's life parked in a small municipality's garage, waiting for the Russians to attack.

The color does appear to be the correct factory color, given the old paint that can be seen inside the fenders, on the firewall and other hard to get at areas. The color was available that year, per the color chart shown. It has the original flathead inline 6 cylinder engine, and a 3-speed transmission with column shifter (three on the tree). It starts, runs and drives perfectly. There is virtually no play in the steering, and runs down the road at 55MPH, straight as an arrow. It does drip a little oil here and there, but no more than any vintage vehicle of this age. Radial tires are like new, and offer a smooth ride. All the gages work, except for the fuel gage, which I believe to be a grounding problem that I just haven't tracked down yet. Not shown in the photos is a new, correct, right hand mirror (which cost me $125), but is worth it's weight in gold when you're trying to back this thing out of the garage! It currently has some comfortable, late model seats installed, but I do have the original seats (just not in great shape).

You've got to see this thing in person to really appreciate it. I hate to get rid of it, but I've picked up a couple new projects, and just don't have the garage space to store it all winter. Don't hesitate to make me an offer. I just want to see this go to a good home. Clean title in hand.
