just finish rebuilding this engine couple of weeks ago (Oil was leaking through heads, very common for subaru) this is what I do for a living and I do it right. Subarus tend to leak oil due to the fact that most Subarus came with a one ply head gasket. An upgraded gasket was installed among the following:
*Adjusted valves on the heads
*New gaskets, all of them (valve cover, head gaskets (multi layer gasket), intake manifold, oil pan, selenoid gaskets etc
*Front and rear main seals, and cam seals
*New timing belt kit with water pump
*Has cold Ac
*Heater
*All maintenance up to date
*Clean
*No check engine lights
It's a very reliable car with plenty of life left these cars are designed to last at least 300k miles
